Toby Imada vs. Jorge Masvidal

Round 1
The fighters cautiously address one another, showing respect to each other's punching power. The fighters exchange glancing blows. Masvidal connects with a stiff left, backing Imada up. Masvidal allows him to recover. A lot of feeling out still going on. Imada lunges and misses two blows. Imada connects on a leg kick, Masvidal strikes back with two hard blows to the face. Masvidal begins to pick up the pace, striking with blows, grabbing a clinch to a trip.  Masvidal mounts and begins raining down blows. Imada defends very well, blocking the assault and getting back to his feet. The fighters exchange blows and kicks. The bell sounds ending the round.

Masvidal get the round slightly as he lands more clean strikes.

Round 2
Imada comes out for the second round sporting a large mouse under his left eye. Imada initiates first with legs kicks. Imada lunges and strikes a hard right to Masvidal's cheek. Masvidal throws a left, blocked by Imada. Imada connects with a solid left. Masvidal scores a straight right, followed by a combination. The fighters exchange more glancing blows. Both fighters are still hesitant to be aggressive. Imada throws a left kick, caught by Masvidal. Imada spun into cage wall, Masvidal pounces but is unable to bring Imada down. Back to the center, Masvidal connects with a combination. Blood is now trickling down Imada's eye as his eye is closing. Masvidal works the injured eye with more jabs as the round ends.

Very close round, hard to call. Could go either way.

Round 3
Imada comes out the aggressor, landing a hard right as he backs Masvidal into the wall. Imada rolls Masvidal to the canvas but is unable to get control, as Masvidal stands up swinging. Masvidal keeps laying the left jab down on Imada, working the eye. Imada keeps coming forward, swinging. Imada delivers a left kick...low blow. Clearly incidental. Referee stops and give Masvidal time to recover. Imada acknowledges Masvidal as they touch gloves. Masvidal keeps working the left jab, landing multiple shots. Imada looks as though he can't see the punches coming.  Masvidal keeps teeing off.  Imada shoots a single leg, takes Masvidal to cage wall.  Masvidal circles in and goes underneath Imada.  Imada tries to apply triangle angle choke and Masvidal stands up before the choke is in place, trying to fight it off.  Masvidal gets cocky, working his way towards a slam. Imada locks in the triangle choke, squeezing Masvidal back to the mat. Masvidal is choked unconscious and the referee stops the fight

An unbelievable ending to a great fight.

Slick choke!

Could you imagine if Masvidal wasn't so cocky & he actually would have defended that choke by pushing away on the calf of the anchor leg in order to release the squeeze.Thats called being a creative fighter.I guess when your that good you dont have to be creative.....What are corners really for anyways!!!!
