Omar De La Cruz Post-Fight Interview

Omar De La Cruz 01 Q:
Meza came in undefeated yet you dominated him for 3 rounds. Is that how you thought the fight would go?

De La Cruz
: I like to dominate. I thought I could dominate with my submission. I made him give me his back the whole time and I kept on him and kept dominating the fight. I should have submitted him but I felt like I did what I wanted.

Q:
You really controlled him on the ground. Is that something you thought you could do coming in?

De La Cruz:
I was in control from the start. He's a wrestler so he's not used to being on the bottom. I felt I did what I wanted and controlled the whole fight. He couldn't do anything from his back.

Q: Meza was a favorite to win this division. Did you send a message tonight?

De La Cruz
: Yes, I think I did send a message. I am from the Dominican Republic and I came and represented. Some people don't think that Dominican fighters are as good and I want to prove them wrong. I think I did send a message tonight.
