Round 1

De La Cruz defends by grabbing an arm bar, but Meza picks De La Cruz off the canvas, slamming him back down to break the lock. De La Cruz reverses and grabs a back mount, Meza reverses back and takes top mount, landing multiple blows to the head. De La Cruz achieves his defensive guard. Meza releases his mounts, stands up, and lands a hard right. Reverse by De la Cruz, as he attempts another arm bar. He loses hold on the bar and moves to a side mount. The clock runs down and the bell rings.

Round 2
Meza and De La Cruz exchange blows, as Meza gets a Muay Thai clinch and lands a knee blow. Meza loses balance again, as De La Cruz gets a rear mount and Meza applies his guard. The undefeated Meza is in major trouble as De La Cruz seeks to apply a rear naked choke. Meza fights back to his base as De la Cruz synch in cross-body ride legs. De La Cruz pulls Meza back to a rear mount, controlling the fight on the ground. The crowd is calling for the ref to bring them to their feet, as Meza defends with wrist control. The bell sounds for the end of the round.

Round 3
The fighters clinch and pummel as Meza lands a knee to De La Cruz. The fighters scramble to the ground and Meza lands an illegal knee to the face on De La Cruz. The referee steps in and pauses the action and the ring doctor evaluates De La Cruz. The referee re-starts the action after a one minute delay, as Meza lands a straight right, rocking De La Cruz backwards. In scramble, De La Cruz recovers and gains a side mount on Meza. De La Cruz is stalling and attempting to ride out the clock. De la Cruz is making no offensive moves, but Meza is unable to get off his back. The referee steps in and stands the fighters up. A wild roundhouse kick is immediately missed by Meza, as De La Cruz scrambles for the takedown and gains side mount position again. Meza struggles to get off his back with five seconds left, gains position, and lands the final blows as the bell rings.
